Provincial Minister of Primary and Secondary Healthcare and Population Welfare Dr. Jamal Nasir has said that *100%* discount for journalists is being restored for medical treatment in Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC), while a special paeds ward with 40 beds for children is being planned.
He said this while visiting Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology. He made a detailed inspection of the hospital and inquired about the facilities from the patients. Provincial Minister Dr. Jamal Nasir said that the memorandum of understanding between the Rawalpindi camp office of the National Press Club and the hospital administration will be signed soon and this facility will be available as soon as possible.
Dr. Jamal Nasir said that modern quality facilities are available in RIC and measures are being taken to further increase them because apart from Rawalpindi, Islamabad, citizens of KPK, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are also benefiting from this treatment center. He said that RIC has installed a state-of-the-art CT scan machine which has a capacity of 640 slices and such a modern missionary is available in only a few hospitals across the country.
Dr. Jamal Nasir said that the peads ward will also be a great addition to the RIC and will prove to be an important step towards adapting the hospital to modern requirements. Provincial Minister Dr. Jamal Nasir visited various wards of the hospital and was also given a detailed briefing about the facilities.
