Steps to put Sindh water policy in place stressed

The experts and key stakeholders stressed the urgency of the steps to put the Sindh Water Policy in place. Urgent and resolute measures for the implementation of the recommendations of the local people of the district should be ensured as a part of the Sindh Water Policy.

These views were expressed by the local experts on Thursday while addressing the ‘district-level Policy Dialogue” organized by the Laar Humanitarian and Development Programme (LHDP) in collaboration with Indus Consortium and Oxfam Pakistan at Gymkhana Badin.

The event was participated by a large number of Government officials including representatives of Sindh Irrigation and Drainage Authority (SIDA), Sindh Environment Protection Agency (SEPA), Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR), Social Welfare Department and Academic Institutions, water user association members, small farmers, local leading growers, representatives of Civil Society organizations, water experts.
