Stay safe, ensure safety, IGP tells force

Punjab Inspector General of Police Inam Ghani on Sunday said that the Punjab Police has been playing its role as a frontline worker for the protection of life and property of the common man during the corona epidemic.

“Several officers and officials of the police force have embraced martyrdom due to the epidemic.

The fourth wave of corona, however, is very dangerous so the ongoing process of corona vaccination of the police officials should be completed in all the districts as soon as possible to enable police personnel perform their duty with peace of mind in a secure environment.”

The IG Police further said that the supervisory officers should complete vaccination of their subordinate force under personal supervision and reports in this regard should be sent to the Central Police Office regularly.

According to the report submitted to the IG Police, so far 22,746 officers and personnel between the ages of 50 and 60 have been vaccinated while 32,495 officers and personnel between the ages of 40 and 50 have been vaccinated against corona.

The report informed that the process of corona vaccination of officers and personnel in the age group of 30 to 40 years is also in full swing and so far 69,716 officers and personnel in the age group of 30 to 40 years have been vaccinated against corona virus whereas 124,957 officers and personnel have been vaccinated against corona.

The process of vaccination of the remaining force and staff is also going on uninterruptedly.

The report said that besides district police offices in all districts, corona vaccination is also being given to officers and personnel in Punjab Constabulary, Investigation Punjab, Special Branch, CTD, Traffic, SPU, PHP and other field formations.

The IGP stressed that all officers and personnel should ensure implementation of SOPs in all cases while on duty.
