Provincial Minister for Education and PPP Karachi President Saeed Ghani has said that May 12, 2007, was the darkest day in the history of the country when state terrorism was carried out.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, he said that police and other law enforcement agencies were taken hostage by terrorists on May 12.
The minister said that the May 12 would always be remembered as a day of sacrifice for the independence of the judiciary and democracy.
Ghani said that on May 12, a dictator had massacred democratic workers through his terrorists and after the massacre, dictator Pervez Musharraf said that we had showed our might.
The provincial minister said that the sacrifices of May 12 for the independence of judiciary would always be remembered.
We salute the martyrs of May 12. He added that on the day the independence of the judiciary was protected by lawyers as well as activists of political parties. PPP workers also sacrificed their lives in the movement for independence of the judiciary, he continued.
Ghani said that the day would always be remembered as a day of sacrifice for the independence of the judiciary and democracy.
