SSWMB ensures proper waste management

Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) has devised a comprehensive plan to ensure proper disposal of sacrificial animal waste during Eid-ul-Azha.

The plan includes setting up collection points, deploying additional vehicles and labor, and establishing complaint centers. Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) has taken measures to ensure proper waste management.

The board, headed by Mayor Karachi Barrister MurtazaWahab, aims to provide relief to citizens during the holiday. Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) Managing Director Syed Imtiaz Ali Shah briefed the meeting on the arrangements and monitoring of cleaning work during Eid-ul-Azha. The plan includes creating 99 UC-wise collection points in all districts, deploying additional vehicles and labor, and setting up complaint centers in all districts.

To ensure timely redressal of grievances, a dedicated helpline (1128) will be operational during the five-day operation. The board has also made arrangements for the safe burial of animal waste at designated landfill sites, including eight trenches at the landfill site Jam Chakru, Gond Pass, and GTS Sharifi Goth. Private cleaning companies’ representatives attended the meeting, ensuring a collaborative effort to maintain cleanliness in the city.

With this comprehensive plan,Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) aims to provide a hassle-free Eid-ul-Azha for Karachi’s citizens.
