Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) intensifies its crackdown on gas theft across its franchise areas, unveiling significant cases of illicit activity. In Karachi, the Customer Relations Department’s (CRD) theft control team raids a prominent bakery, uncovering gas theft in progress. The bakery owner, Malik Muhammad Yaseen, faces charges as the authorities seize the stolen equipment used in the illicit activity. In Sukkur, a massive gas theft operation is exposed, involving the removal of 10 underground clamps and connections from 210 houses, resulting in an estimated theft volume of 201,600 cm per year. In Hyderabad’s Mutaasreen Colony, gas theft is discovered, with miscreants installing clamps and rubber pipes to extend gas connections to over 30 houses in a non-gasified area.

SSGC swiftly dismantles the connections, repairs the mains, and reclaims the stolen equipment, estimating the theft volume at 28,800 cm per year.

SSGC also prevails against gas theft in other cities of Sindh, including Larkana’s Jacobabad Zone and Shikarpur Zone, where numerous illegal connections are dismantled, and stolen equipment is removed in a rapid operation.
