Sports more important for medical students

Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute Prof. Dr. Sardar Muhammad Al-freed Zafar has said that extra-curricular activities are of great importance to the medical students as it is more vital for them.

He added that there is no doubt that sports are helpful to stay healthy and in creativity in the young generation for which sports societies also play pivotal roles.

Prof. Dr. Al-freed Zafar expressed these views while addressing the oath taking ceremony of the office bearers of Sports Society of Ameer Uddin Medical College & Lahore General Hospital, here on Saturday.

Sports Society Staff President & Professor of Surgery Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal was also present on the occasion while Final Year students Fabiha Qayyum took oath as President of the Society and her fellow Zainab Aziz took oath as Women Vice President. Talha Bin Sajid was sworn in as Mail Vice President while other office bearers also took oath of their positions who reaffirmed their commitment to participate in sports and other activities with full enthusiasm in the newly elected council.

It is noteworthy that for the first time in the sports society of this college, two females have held high positions at the same time.
