ISLAMABAD – At least six passengers lost their lives after a tourist van caught fire following a crash on the Murree Expressway on Wednesday.
According to a spokesperson for the Motorway Police, an investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the incident.
Initial reports suggest the van may have gone out of control due to overspeeding or a possible brake failure before colliding with a safety barrier. The impact reportedly triggered a fire that quickly engulfed the vehicle.
Rescue teams responded to the scene and shifted the deceased and injured passengers to a nearby hospital for treatment and further procedures.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has expressed sorrow over death of tourists in the accident. She has ordered authorities to provide best treatment facilities to injured persons.
