At least Six persons among them a woman have lost their lives while seven others injured in different incidents in various parts of Attock district during eid, police and hospital sources said. According to sources, the most casualties reported due to drowning incidents at water spots.
In the first incident, three teenage men drowned in river Indus near AttockKhurd picnic spot. Police and rescue source said 19 years old Hussain Shah and 18 years old Waqar and 20 years old Abdul Ghani went to river Indus for picnicking on the first day of Eid.
As Waqar went to deep waters and loses control and starts drowning as Abdul Ghani went to rescue him also drowned. Observing his friends in distress, Hussain also jumps in to the water to save them also drowned.
Later rescue 1122 launched operation and retrieved the body of Hussain only till filing this news report. Moreover, a man drowned in Jabba water channel near Hakla-DI Khan motorway in the limits of Jand Police station on Friday. Police sources said 22 years old Hammad went to water channel to enjoy swimming, he loses control and drowned. Later local volunteers have retrieved his body and shifted to tehsil headquarters hospital Jand where he pronounced dead.
Separately, a man died of burn injuries in Hazro town of Attock on Friday. Rescue sources said that 35 years old Asad Ali- an employee of CNG station burnt when he on the supply line of the station after eid vacation as gas accumulated in the control room.
