FAISALABAD – At least six people including five members of a family were killed and three others injured when a car collided with tractor-trolley carrying sugarcane due to dense fog in Faisalabad on Friday night.
The police spokesperson said that the incident took place in the Tandliawala area, where a car coming from Lahore, carrying women, children and a man, crashed into the tractor-trolley loaded with sugarcane due to the fog.
As a result, a woman namely Rabia Bibi along with her daughters — 13-year-old Fajr, 11-year-old Imaama, 6-year-old Yahya, 1-year-old Musa — and a relative’s child, 1-year-old Raees, were killed.
The police said that after the accident, the driver of the tractor-trolley fled the scene, and raids are being conducted to arrest him.
The police said that the driver of the car, Shahzeb, along with his wife and son, was severely injured. Upon receiving the report of the accident, police and rescue personnel arrived at the scene and carried out rescue operations, removed the bodies and injured people from the car and shifted them to the hospital. Three of the critically injured were transferred to Allied Hospital in Faisalabad for treatment.
