Special Investigation Unit (SIU), CIA Karachi Police arrested a gang of four involved in robberies outside banks and ATMs and injuring citizens during robberies.
According to an official, the SIU, on a tip off from Eigah ground, Nazimabad, netted the gang on a tip off from Eigah ground, Nazimabad. The arrested were identified as Sher Nawab Khan, Afzal Khan, Imran Ali and Muhammad Masoom alias Manager.
The gang was involved in robbing people coming out of banks with cash and ATMs in different areas of the city and injuring people for resisting the robberies.
During the initial interrogation, the accused revealed that gang member Masoom alias Manger used to inform his associates about the people who withdrew huge cash from bank, whereas his accomplices robbed these citizens on their way. They also confessed injuring citizens during robberies.
Accused Sher Nawab revealed that he along with the Khuzdari group snatched around 35 150cc and 125 cc motorcycles from different areas of district East and district Central and was arrested and jailed in 17 cases including murder, robbery and illegal weapons.
All the arrested accuseds have been arrested many times earlier as well and hold criminal records.
