CAIRO – Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir called on Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi at the Ettehadiya Palace.
The meeting was attended by Field Marshal Abdul Majeed Saqr, Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces and Minister of Defense, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Cairo Aamer Shaukat, and Major General Syed Muhammad Jawad, Head of the Secretariat of the Chief of Staff of the Pakistan Army.
Chief of Army Staff lauded Egypt’s leadership for its significant contribution to regional peace and stability, while President El-Sisi acknowledged Pakistan’s active and positive role in addressing global and Muslim-world issues. Both leaders stressed the importance of coordinating on strategic matters of mutual interest and fostering stronger ties between their peoples.
The conversation also sheds light on countries’ long-standing friendship and mutual commitment to expanding collaboration across various sectors, including socio-economic development, technology, and security.
The meeting concluded warmly, with both sides confident that closer economic and security cooperation would help promote stability, peace, and security in Egypt, Pakistan, and the wider region.
During the talks, President Sisi expressed his appreciation for the significant development in Egyptian-Pakistani relations in recent times.
He stressed Cairo’s commitment to continuing to strengthen bilateral cooperation across various fields, aiming to serve the shared interests of both nations and promote development and prosperity.
