KARACHI – Former Sindh MPA Ghulam Rasool Inr has approached a court seeking registration of a case against his former wife, alleging that he was deceived through AI-generated photographs before their marriage.
In an application filed before the Additional District and Sessions Judge South, the former lawmaker stated that he had met the woman through social media and married her through a video call on February 23, 2026, without seeing her actual face.
According to his lawyer, Aamir Nawaz Waraich, whenever he asked the woman to show her face, she allegedly sent him photographs generated using artificial intelligence. The lawyer further told the court that the woman remained veiled even during the video-linked nikah ceremony.
The application stated that after the marriage, he saw the woman in person and found that she looked completely different from the photographs he had previously received. He subsequently distanced himself from her.
According to the application, the former wife later allegedly shared fake photographs and social media posts claiming that Ghulam Rasool had died. The former MPA divorced her on August 9, according to his lawyer.
The lawyer further alleged that a complaint against the former wife had already been submitted to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA). He claimed that following the divorce, she was demanding millions of rupees from Inr and allegedly blackmailing him and issuing threats to kill him.
The court has issued notices to the SP Complaint Cell, SHO Defence and the former wife, and sought a police report by August 17.
