Sindh will introduce IFMIS to ensure timely payment of salaries, pension to employees

Government of Sindh would introduce Integrated Financial Management Information System (IFMIS) in local councils to ensure timely payment of salaries and pension to local government employees.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been inked between the Government of Sindh and the Controller General of Accounts here on Friday in presence of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.

Provincial Finance Secretary Sajid Jamal Abro, Secretary Local Government Najam Shah and Director General MIS Accountant General of Pakistan Muhammad Umar signed the MoU.

In the first phase the system will be made operational in Karachi and gradually it would be extended to other districts of the province. The system would support automated disbursement of salaries and pensions to employees of KMC, DMCs, District Council and Local Councils.

Under the IFMIS employees of all local councils would get salaries and pensions on the pattern of Sindh government employees and the employees awaiting posting would also continue to get salaries like the employees of Sindh government.

The CM Sindh speaking at the occasion said “Employees of the local governments will no longer wait for salaries and pensions as soon as the system is made functional and they will get salaries on time through the proposed system.”

Sindh Local Government Minister Nasir Shah, CM’s adviser on legal affairs and administrator Karachi Murtaza Wahab, Chairman P&D Hasan Naqvi, Accountant General of Pakistan Shahzad Hasan, Advocate General Sindh Liaquat Memon and other relevant officials were also present at the occasion.
