Intense heat continued to grip Sindh on Wednesday, with temperatures soaring to 47°C in several areas, including Dadu, Nawabshah and Mohenjo-daro.
In Karachi, the mercury climbed to 38°C, while evening humidity rose to around 46%.
Meteorologists say the intense hot spell is likely to continue across the province throughout the week.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, a westerly wave is currently influencing the western and northern regions of the country, while continental air dominates much of the rest of Pakistan.

Under these conditions, most areas of Sindh are expected to remain hot and dry, with upper districts facing extremely high temperatures during the week.
Temperature outlook
In Karachi, daytime temperatures are expected to stay between 35°C and 37°C from Thursday through Saturday.
Hyderabad is forecast to experience more severe heat, with temperatures likely ranging from 40°C to 42°C on Thursday, rising to 41°C–43°C on Friday, and settling again around 40°C–42°C on Saturday.
Previous 24-hour weather
Hot and dry conditions persisted across much of the province over the past 24 hours. Temperatures reached 47°C in Dadu, Nawabshah and Mohenjo-daro, while Larkana recorded 46°C.
Meanwhile, Karachi and Hyderabad saw highs of 36°C and 42°C, respectively, with moderate humidity levels.
Health advisory
Health professionals have urged residents to take precautionary measures during the ongoing intense heat. People are advised to avoid outdoor activity during peak hours (11 am to 3 pm), maintain proper hydration, and wear light, breathable clothing.
Doctors also recommend covering the head when going outdoors, avoiding unhygienic street food, and using clean or boiled water to help prevent heat-related illnesses and stomach infections.
