Sindh Police has made a significant decision to connect the Police Station Record Management System (PSRMS) with the Case File Management System (CFMS), aimed at further improving the department’s investigative capabilities. This initiative was discussed in a meeting held at the Central Police Office in Karachi, attended by Inspector General (IG) Sindh, Ghulam Nabi Memon, and Prosecutor General Sindh, Dr. Fayyaz Hussain Shah. The meeting included key participants such as the Additional IG Operations, Additional District and Sessions Judge, DIGs, and various officers from Crime Investigation, Establishment, Headquarters, IT, and additional and assistant prosecutors. Participants received a comprehensive briefing on the software from the DIGs of Crime Investigation and IT. IG Sindh stated that 70 to 80 percent of case registrations have already been completed in the PSRMS. He emphasized that this record can now be easily accessed online. The integration of PSRMS and CFMS will allow for the online storage of case details, evidence, documents, court proceedings, and other essential information. This will facilitate the online monitoring of all investigative processes and judicial actions from the registration of FIRs to court decisions. The integration aims to eliminate documentation errors, unnecessary delays, and lack of cooperation in cases. The Prosecutor General highlighted that the introduction of PSRMS and E-Malkhana services by the Sindh Police is commendable. He noted that the interconnected systems will strengthen the relationship and communication between the investigation department and the prosecution branch. Both departments will collaborate closely from the very first day of case registration, ensuring mutual cooperation. The Prosecutor General expressed confidence that the integration and collaboration would improve conviction rates further.
