Sindh Police has begun using specially trained K-9 dogs to prevent the smuggling of explosives, drugs, and other prohibited items from Balochistan into Karachi. Following directives from the IG Sindh and Additional IG Karachi, strict checks have been implemented at the Mochko Police Checkpoint, a key entry point into Karachi. The K-9 unit has been stationed at Mochko, where the trained dogs are skilled in detecting explosives and narcotics. Each vehicle coming from Balochistan undergoes thorough scanning and inspection by the K-9 team before being allowed to enter Karachi. SSP Keamari Captain (Retd) Faizan Ali visited the checkpoint to assess the inspection procedures and issued necessary instructions to the staff and K-9 handlers stationed there. Engineers and officials from the civil department also accompanied him. During the visit, measurements for infrastructure improvements at Mochko Checkpoint were taken, with plans to initiate construction of inspection lines and other facilities soon.
