Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on Monday met with United Arab Emirates (UAE) Consul General Dr Bakheet Ateeq Al-Remeithi at his Karachi office to explore ways to deepen cooperation between Sindh and the UAE across various sectors.
Both officials discussed the potential for expanding collaborative efforts and reaffirmed the bond shared by their regions. During the meeting, Consul General Al-Remeithi extended an invitation to Minister Memon for the UAE’s National Day celebrations.
Minister Memon warmly accepted, emphasizing the importance of celebrating the UAE as a brotherly nation with deep-rooted ties to Pakistan. Both parties agreed on the need to bolster economic and social initiatives, with an emphasis on long-term development. Consul General Al-Remeithi praised the Sindh government’s commitment to its anti-narcotics campaign and announced plans by the UAE government to establish free medical camps across various cities in Sindh, aiming to provide essential healthcare services to the local population. Minister Memon spoke about the longstanding friendship between Sindh and the UAE, describing their relationship as enduring and fraternal. He commended the UAE’s efforts in supporting Sindh’s development, highlighting its impactful investments in infrastructure, healthcare, and education sectors.
“The people of UAE have stood by the people of Sindh in every difficult time,” he noted, recognizing the UAE’s consistent support for the province. He further assured the UAE Consul General of the Sindh government’s dedication to nurturing this partnership, fostering peace, and encouraging prosperity across the province.
