­Sindh investment dept, SBC sign MoU to boost trade, investment

Sindh Investment Department and the Swiss Business Council (SBC) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). The agreement aims to promote mutual cooperation, trade, and investment between the two nations, creating new opportunities for businesses in both countries.

The MoU was signed in Karachi on June 4, 2024, in the presence of Pakistan’s Swiss Ambassador, George Steiner, and Secretary of the Sindh Investment Department, Raja KhurramShahzad Omar.

The signing ceremony was also attended by other senior officials from both sides. Under this agreement, the Sindh Investment Department and the Swiss Business Council will work together to facilitate trade and investment between Pakistan and Switzerland.

The partnership will enable businesses in both countries to explore new opportunities, foster economic growth, and strengthen bilateral relations. The Swiss Ambassador to Pakistan, George Steiner, emphasized the importance of a healthy business environment and mutual cooperation to promote trade and investment. He expressed his optimism about the potential for Swiss businesses in Sindh, highlighting the province’s investment opportunities and business-friendly environment.

Secretary of the Sindh Investment Department, Raja KhurramShahzad Omar, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating that it will open new doors for businesses in both countries. He highlighted the department’s commitment to facilitating trade and investment in Sindh, creating a conducive environment for businesses to thrive.

The Swiss Business Council (SBC) President, Jason Avancena, emphasized the importance of collaboration to attract Swiss investment to Sindh. He expressed his confidence in the potential for Swiss businesses in the province, citing the already active and successful Swiss companies operating in Sindh.
