The Sindh government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the Karachi Development Authority (KDA), ensuring it becomes a robust and efficient civic agency for the city. Sindh Minister for Local Government, Housing Town Planning, and Public Health Engineering, SaeedGhani, announced this during a meeting with a delegation from the KDA Labour Union, led by its patron-in-chief, Muhammad Ashraf.
During the meeting, which took place on Thursday, discussions focused on various affairs related to the KDA, with a particular emphasis on the issues facing its land department. Minister Ghani assured the delegation that the government would continue to extend support and cooperation to enhance the operational capabilities and effectiveness of the KDA, highlighting the importance of a well-functioning civic agency for the development and management of Karachi.
The Sindh Local Government Minister said that the process to promote to next service grade the officers and staffers of the KDA would soon begin. He assured the delegation that the Sindh government would take steps on an emergency basis to resolve the pressing issues of KDA employees. The Labour Union Patron-in-chief expressed gratitude to the Local Government Minister for taking a keen interest in resolving the issues of the KDA and its employees. He said the Pakistan Peoples Party was a pro-poor political party that had always worked hard in the best interest of the people of Karachi. He appreciated that the PPP’s Sindh government had been working dedicatedly to ensure progress and development of Karachi without any prejudice or discrimination.
He said the Labour Union would continue to support and highlight positive steps of the Local Government Minister to improve KDA. The delegation comprised Syed Hassan Naqvi, Zeeshan Abdul Qayyum, ArsalanNaqvi, Muhammad Ali Ghouri, and ArsalanQureshi who recently joined the KDA’s Labour Union.
