On the occasion of World Public Transport Day, Senior Minister for Transport, Mass Transit, and Information Sindh, Sharjeel Inam Memon, reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to providing an environment-friendly and comprehensive public transport system for the residents of Sindh. Sharjeel Memon expressed pride in the Sindh government’s ongoing public transport initiatives, including the People’s Bus Service, which is benefiting thousands of citizens daily with affordable, comfortable, and convenient travel options.

He highlighted the introduction of the environmentally friendly Electric Vehicle (EV) bus service as a revolutionary step to reduce pollution, underscoring the government’s dedication to sustainable urban mobility. Memon also pointed out the historic launch of the ‘pink bus service,’ the world’s first dedicated public transport for women, ensuring safe and comfortable travel for female passengers. The minister mentioned that work on the Orange Line and Red Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) projects is underway, which, upon completion, will further improve connectivity across city areas. Looking ahead, Memon revealed plans to introduce double-decker buses in Sindh for the first time, emphasizing that cooperation between the government and citizens is essential for a bright, clean, and sustainable future.
