Sindh govt committed to promoting sports: Nasir

Provincial Minister for Energy, Development, and Planning, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, has emphasized the Sindh government’s commitment to fostering sports. Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Sindh Beach Games, organized by the Sindh Government Sports Department at Nishan-e-Pakistan Beach, Shah highlighted the government’s efforts in nurturing young talent. During the event, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and Secretary Sports Abdul Aleem Lashari presented the general trophy to Karachi, which secured the top position with 14 medals.

Hyderabad claimed the second position with 4 medals, while Sukkur bagged third place. Addressing the media, Shah stated, “The Sindh government has made significant efforts to support sports, and we are witnessing youth from remote areas showcasing their talent here today.”

He further added that the province is actively training talented youth and has launched initiatives such as the Sindh Premier League and the Sindh Junior Premier League to enhance opportunities in sports. Praising the performances at the Beach Games, Shah encouraged participants to continue striving for excellence, urging those who didn’t win to work harder.

He also lauded the Sindh Sports Minister and the organizing team for successfully hosting the event.

The Sindh Beach Games saw participation from over 500 players across six divisions, competing in eight sports, including throwball, badminton, boxing, handball, and volleyball. Medals were awarded to the winners of various categories. Parliamentary Secretary for Sports Saima Agha, Sports Officer Farid Ali, and several other dignitaries were present at the ceremony.
