Sindh Education Department (SED) has announced that there would be no further evening classes in government-run schools. Sindh Secretary Education (School) has in this context revealed that this step of closing down the evening shifts from public schools would help reduce the budget deficit as number of students at these government-run schools is just countable on finger tips while number of schools staffers and teaching faculty is overwhelmingly large and thus it causes extra financial burden on the provincial exchequer.
In the very first phase, SED has closed schools in districts of Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, Badin and Shehdadpure while schools in other districts of Larkana, Sukkur, Dadu, Khairpure and others would be closed in second phase. Sindh Secretary Education (School) Ahsan Mangi said that students of the deveining shift are being shifted/ transferred to morning regular shift.
