Sindh govt announces three-day youth conference

Sindh government has announced a three-day youth conference in Karachi, organized by the Sindh Sports and Youth Affairs Department. The conference, titled “21st Century Youth Problems and Their Solutions,” will be held from January 31 to February 2, 2025, at the Youth Club in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. Sindh Sports Minister Sardar Muhammad Baksh Mahar emphasized the importance of understanding the development of youth, addressing their problems, and identifying opportunities and challenges for the future.  He stated that the conference aims to gather suggestions from various stakeholders to guide the future path for Sindh’s youth.

The conference will feature 11 different sessions, and will begin on January 31 at 3:00 PM, with the inaugural session addressed by Sardar Muhammad Baksh Mahar, Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs. Secretary Sports Abdul Aleem Lashari will also provide insights on the objectives of the conference. Key figures participating in the conference include Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah, renowned journalist Wasatullah Khan, young intellectual Jami Chandio, economist Qaiser Bengali, social activist Shahzad Roy, and many others. Murtaza Wahab, Zafar Abbas, and other notable personalities will also attend on February 1. In addition to the discussions, the conference will feature a music program for the youth on February 1, starting at 6:00 PM, where popular artists Shahzad Roy and Saif Samejo will perform. Minister Sardar highlighted that the conference would focus on crucial issues such as education, employment, technology, social change, and the youth’s role in the development of Sindh. The event will also include musical performances, a Mach Kacheri program, and a tour of historical landmarks in Karachi, aimed at enriching the cultural and social experience of the youth participants.
