Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has demanded a 40% pay raise for government employees in his letter to Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.

Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori wrote another letter to CM Murad Ali Shah, demanding a 40% hike in the salaries of government employees. He demanded to fix the salary of each government employee at Rs50,000 per month. He said that the common man is facing financial hardships due to skyrocketing inflation, whereas, crops were also affected due to recent floods. He further stated that inflation was increased due to fluctuations in demand and supply.

Tessori said that hoarding and inflation worsened the financial condition of the common man, therefore, the government should hike the salaries of the workers. On Monday, Governor Tessori raised objection on the committee, constituted by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) led Sindh government to regularise goths. The Sindh governor penned down a letter to Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and raised objection over the committee constituted to regularise goths, noting that all political parties of the province should be part of the committee.

In the letter, Kamran Tessori pointed out the reservations of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), Jamat-e-Islami (JI) and non-government organisations (NGOs) in this regard. The governor stressed the need to ‘close doors of corruption’ related to land acquisition. “[Pakistan People’s Party leaders] Bilawal Bhutto and Asif Zardari are against any kind of corruption or land grabbing”, the letter noted.

“The committee should be constituted in a transparent manner”, he wrote, adding that the regularisation committee should be abolished and all stakeholders should be included in it.“In the past, the laws related to Katchi Abadi and goths were a source of fraud, forgery, and corruption,” the letter noted, adding that such laws encourage the grabbing of private or public land.
