Sindh Food Authority issued 3331 licenses in 2020

The Sindh Food Authority inspected a total of 12,102 places across the province in the year 2020, including food processing factories, restaurants, milk and sweet shops, warehouses, supermarkets and Grocery stores etc. are included.

During the inspection, food business improvement guidelines were distributed at these places, while 325 places (units) were temporarily closed and fines were imposed for violating hygiene and hygiene norms.
Besides, 8,600 challans were also issued for the inspection of licenses of Food Authority during which the Sindh Food Authority has so far received applications from 4,304 businessmen out of which 3,331 have so far been issued licenses by the Food Authority.

In addition, the technical staff of the Sindh Food Authority played a vital role during the Corona epidemic, which not only published guidelines (SOPs) for all types of Corona food business but also distributed them. In the year 2020, 255 complaints were received from the Prime Minister’s Portal out of which 191 complaints were resolved while the remaining 64 complaints are being processed.
