Sindh Home Minister, Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, chaired a meeting to review the security situation in Larkana, particularly in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh, Naudero, and surrounding areas, in light of the upcoming martyrdom anniversary of Benazir Bhutto. The meeting also focused on enhancing police security measures in these regions.

The meeting was attended by IG Sindh, Ghulam Nabi Memon, Additional IG of Special Branch, and the DIGs of Sukkur and Larkana Ranges, along with relevant SSPs. The DIGs presented separate briefings on security matters and measures in Larkana and Sukkur. Minister Lanjar stressed that security across the province would remain on high alert until further notice, with zero tolerance for negligence. He directed that security for the anniversary of Benazir Bhutto’s martyrdom be coordinated effectively at the provincial level. Special attention was given to ensuring the safety of the large number of devotees traveling to Garhi Khuda Bakhsh from all parts of the country.

He also instructed the immediate removal of encroachments on the routes to Garhi Khuda Bakhsh and Naudero and emphasized the need for tight monitoring of parking areas. Additionally, intelligence operations in the surrounding areas must be intensified to ensure timely and effective response to any security concerns. The Minister urged the public to report suspicious objects, parcels, bags, or abandoned vehicles to the police immediately via the 15 helpline.
