Sindh approves Rs 2.7b for modern weapons to police

A meeting chaired by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah approved Rs 2.7 billion rupees for modern weapons for police department.

The officials of Sindh’s finance, home and police departments attended the meeting.

Chief Minister Shah vowed to eliminate bandits from Katcha area of the province. “We have to clean Sukkur and Larkana divisions from dacoits,” he said.

“The government has also decided to form the Rapid Response Force and Crowd Management Unit,” he said.

Sindh’s chief minister also approved two billion rupees allocation for police training barracks, “We are providing modern weapons and training to the police,” Shah said. “Policemen also being given handsome salaries,” he said.

Murad Ali Shah approved Rs. 1.56 billion for Sindh Toll Plaza Surveillance Project. He directed for installation of CCTV cameras on all 40 toll plazas in the province.

Chief Minister also approved releasing budget for the investigation allowance. Sindh CM decided to update and modernize investigation branch of the police.—INP
