Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, has announced positive developments for students in Karachi, revealing the establishment of two new universities in the city.

Dr. Siddiqui shared that the National Textile University campus will be inaugurated on December 14, followed by the opening of the National Skills University campus later in the month. These new institutions are expected to offer fresh opportunities for higher education in Karachi, enhancing educational facilities for local students.

In addition, Dr. Siddiqui outlined plans for a federal university campus in Mirpurkhas, which is set to be established by March next year. This campus is anticipated to serve students from neighboring districts, including Sanghar, Umerkot, and Tharparkar, further expanding access to quality education in rural areas. While expressing optimism over the progress, Dr. Siddiqui also raised concerns about challenges in acquiring land for these projects.

He mentioned that certain plots of land, which have been unused for more than a decade, are still not available for the development of educational campuses, highlighting the need for efficient land allocation to support the growth of educational infrastructure.
