Chairman SIAL Mian Naeem Javed has said that his meeting with President Dr Arif Alvi has been very successful and will have lasting effects. He expressed these views while talking to airport officials on his return to Sialkot from the Islamabad Presidency.
Chairman SIAL Mian Naeem Javed said that President Dr. Arif Alvi while showing great kindness in this meeting Federal Minister for Civil Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Federal Secretary Aviation Shaukat Ali, Director General Aviation Flight Lt. (R) Khaqan Murtaza, Member (Customs-Operations) Syed Muhammad Tariq Huda and other senior officers have made this meeting historic by including the meeting with the SIAL delegation while issuing orders to the heads of the concerned departments to resolve the issues facing SIAL immediately We are deeply grateful to him for his help.
Chairman SIAL Mian Naeem Javed said that he had requested the President for compensate the damage caused to Sialkot Airport during the Covid-19 in shape of three years tax exemption, restoration of Greenfield status of Sialkot International Airport and permission to foreign airlines wishing to start their flights at Sialkot Airport. During the meeting, he suggested that the national airline PIA should operate all flights to Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi and operate foreign airlines at smaller airports such as Sialkot, Multan, Peshawar, Quetta and Rahim Yar Khan.
The policy should be adopted so that the people of these remote areas have the opportunity to travel to foreign countries from their nearest airports. Chairman SIAL said that President Dr. Arif Alvi termed the construction of Sialkot International Airport in the private sector in Pakistan as a great achievement of the business community of Sialkot and assured all possible cooperation to make it a success.
