SHCC, PMA agree to eradicate menace of quackery together

Chief Executive Director, Sindh Healthcare Commission (SHCC) Dr Ahson Qavi Siddiqi visited the PMA House   to congratulate Dr Usman Mako the newly elected President Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Sindh  and other office-bearers.

Former President PMA Sindh Dr Mirza Ali Azhar was also present on this occasion. During the meeting, CEO SHCC, accompanied by the Director Anti- Quackery, Director Licensing and Deputy Director Licensing. The delegation discussed the way forward strategy to increase mutual collaborative efforts in the provision of quality health care for the general public.

PMA members gave their recommendations on ways to combine efforts together with SHCC and identified key challenges being faced by the health care practitioners across the province.

CEO, SHCC further briefed everyone on new training and development agenda aimed to sensitize the field teams going out for inspections of health care establishments and  ensure trust and respect with the Doctors community in line with SHCC core values to encourage a ‘participatory approach’ between the health care practitioner (HCP), PMA members and SHCC.

‘All Key stakeholders in the health care delivery system are important and should work in mutual collaboration with one another’ said Dr Ahson.

The SHCC pledges to ensure quality and accessibility of health care through training, governance and licensing of health care providers and establishments in the province of Sindh. Special measures are being put in place to control the menace of quackery with the support of our partner stakeholders.

CEO, SHCC thanked PMA and reaffirmed the commitment to work together to bring more improvement in the health care system across the province.
