Government of Sindh, through its Information Department, has announced the establishment of the Films and Drama Production Board to support individuals working in the film and drama industry. The board was approved by the Sindh Cabinet and was formally established following a crucial meeting chaired by Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Information Nadeem-ur-Rehman Memon, Director Advertisement Muhammad Yousuf Kaboro, Sarang Latif Chandio, and other key officials. Speaking at the meeting, Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon emphasized the board’s role in facilitating the production of films and dramas and supporting those involved in the sector.

He highlighted that the new initiative would help promote the rich cultural heritage of Sindh and showcase its diverse traditions and history. The board will assist in nurturing creative talent and fostering cultural representation, with a special focus on promoting new talent. Memon expressed his commitment to ensuring that the province’s positive thinking and creative expression are reflected through the medium of film and drama.

Memon further stressed the importance of using media, particularly film and drama, to address social challenges.

Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon mentioned that civil society, artists, and people from all walks of life should collaborate to counter social evils and promote constructive thought. He assured that the Sindh government would continue its efforts to support the media industry and encourage positive content creation.

“The time has come to support the media industry to ensure its development,” said Memon, emphasizing that the Information Department would utilize all available resources to promote positive thinking among the public.
