Sharjeel Memon announces relocation of bus stations

Sindh government has decided to relocate all bus stations outside the city and introduce a free shuttle service for passengers. This initiative aims to improve city traffic flow and ease congestion. Sindh Senior Minister and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport, Excise, and Taxation, SharjeelInamMemon, announced that the free shuttle service will commence on August 14, 2024. The service will transport passengers from the old bus stands to the new terminal.  The decision followed a high-level meeting chaired by SharjeelInamMemon.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Transport AsadZaman, Commissioner Karachi Hassan Naqvi, Karachi Police Chief JavedAlamOdho, and DIG Traffic Ahmed Nawaz Cheema, among other key officials. During the meeting, Senior Minister SharjeelInamMemon issued instructions to prioritize shifting the bus stands outside the city immediately. Speaking at the meeting, Senior Minister SharjeelInamMemon stated that the citizens of Karachi are facing hardships due to heavy vehicles, which also increases pressure on the roads.

All bus stands are being shifted outside the city, and more modern facilities are being provided for passengers at the Karachi Bus Terminal. He said that the shuttle service is being started from Cantt Station, SagheerShaheed Road, MA Jinnah Road, and Al-Karam Square.

Through this service, passengers are being provided with free transportation from the old bus bases to the terminal. Senior Minister SharjeelInamMemon instructed that efforts should be made to ensure that the citizens and travelers of Karachi do not face any inconvenience or problems.

Measures should be taken with the interests of all stakeholders in mind. Sharjeel said that measures should be taken to ensure that transporters are not harmed and that passengers can also benefit. A police check post is being established at the Karachi Bus Terminal to ensure the safety of passengers.
