Senior Sindh Minister SharjeelInamMemon has lauded the Sindh government’s introduction of the Labour Card and Farmer Card, calling them revolutionary steps designed to provide significant benefits to workers and farmers. Speaking to the media outside the Sindh Assembly on Friday, Memon emphasized that the budget reflects the government’s commitment to public welfare, especially for the underprivileged. Minister Memon recalled that during Asif Ali Zardari’s presidency, the Benazir Income Support Program was launched to aid poor women across Pakistan, underscoring that people’s governments always work for the disadvantaged. He noted that the current budget is a testament to this commitment.

Highlighting the budget’s focus, Memon stated that substantial funds have been allocated for housing projects to assist flood victims, providing 2.1 million homes. The budget includes provisions for various essential sectors to ensure public relief. He mentioned that, following the directives of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, funds have been allocated to install solar panels in the homes of the poor, with a minimum wage set at Rs. 37,000. Considering the country’s economic conditions, the budget has prioritized salaried individuals, with significant projects in roads, water, and transport.

Senior Minister Memon asserted that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) always comes to power through popular support, evidenced by the historic mandate received in the 2024 elections. He credited leaders like Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Asif Ali Zardari, FaryalTalpur, and Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah for their efforts to maximize public relief. He praised the PPP’s record in healthcare, stating that Sindh offers the best medical facilities in Pakistan. He welcomed the federal government’s plan to introduce the Pink Bus service, following Sindh’s lead, as a positive development.
