Several Pakistani cricketers defrauded of millions in alleged investment scheme

Several Pakistani Cricketers Defrauded Of Millions In Alleged Investment Scheme

ISLAMABAD – A number of prominent Pakistani cricketers have reportedly lost millions of rupees due to an alleged investment fraud.

The players, both former and current members of the national cricket team, are said to have fallen victim to a scheme run by a businessman with whom they had invested their savings in hopes of high returns.

Sources confirm that the cricketers, following the example set by a former national captain, made investments with a businessman, some even directly. The investments, amounting to several million rupees, were made in the belief that they would generate extraordinary profits. However, after receiving initial returns, the businessman reportedly disappeared, leaving the players unable to recover their money.

While some of the cricketers did manage to recover a portion of their investment after weeks of attempts, many have not been so fortunate. Sources further revealed that a well-known cricket agent is also among those defrauded in the scheme.

The businessman, who is said to be residing in the United States, reportedly had close connections with several Pakistani cricketers. The players have claimed that the individual’s phone has been switched off for some time, and they have not received any further profits in the last two months.

Despite the loss, the cricketers have not officially reported the incident to any legal or regulatory authority, nor have they reached out to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for assistance in resolving the matter.

The sources said that the cricketers are now seeking to recover their original investments but are struggling to make contact with the person responsible for the fraud.
