These regions have witnessed continued clashes, with local tribes demanding the removal of non-local settlers who have reportedly occupied agricultural and commercial lands.
The influx of non-local settlers has raised concerns about the economic and demographic impact on the indigenous Assamese communities.
The indigenous tribes of Assam argue that these settlers are threatening their economic resources and disturbing the region’s demographic balance.
In response, they have called for the eviction of non-local residents from the disputed lands.
In an attempt to control the situation, the Modi government has imposed a curfew and restricted internet access in the affected areas.
The violence continued to escalate as tensions between local tribes and non-local settlers intensified.
