Seven of a family gunned down, four suspects held

In a gruesome incident, as many as seven members of a family were brutally gunned down in the outskirts of the provincial metropolis on Tuesday.

‘Unknown assailants shot dead seven members of the same family in Peshawar over an old enmity’, police authorities said.

Reports said unknown armed men stormed a house located in Peshawar’s Chamkani area and opened indiscriminate fire on the family members. As a result, seven people including three brothers lost their lives on the spot.

The assailants fled the scene comfortably after committing the crime. The local police admitted.

Getting information of the incident, the rescue teams reached the spot and moved bodies to a nearby hospital for medico-legal.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Abbas Ahsan also reached the crime scene to monitor the development of the case.

In the meanwhile the police claimed to have arrested four suspects for the probe into the killings while efforts are underway to arrest the killers with the help of GSM locators, said the police. However, main culprits continued to remain at large.
