Sessions judge Shakirullah Marwat kidnapped in northwestern Pakistan

PESHAWAR – A district and sessions Judge Shakirullah Marwat has been kidnapped by armed men near Dera Ismail Khan-Tank Road on Saturday, sources said.

Armed abductors took District and Sessions Judge Shakirullah Marwat near the border area, leaving behind his official vehicle, and security personnel.

The incident occurred as judge Marwat was returning from duty to DI Khan. Meanwhile, no group has claimed responsibility for the abduction.

Politicians and human right activists expressed concern and urged KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur to address the lack of progress in ensuring peace in the province.

Gandapur also ordered immediate action for the judge’s safe recovery, condemning the incident and promising that those responsible will be brought to justice.
