Serene Air’s offices are being emptied, and employees have been asked to collect their belongings, vehicles and other saleable assets have been disposed of, and airport offices have been handed over to the Civil Aviation Authority.
The private air carriern confirmed closure of its operations and business setup in Pakistan, bringing its city and airport offices across the country into the final phase of shutdown. The development follows visit by airline’s Chinese chief executive to Pakistan last month. According to aviation sources, the CEO held meetings with senior officials from relevant institutions, where the decision to close the airline’s local operations and sell off its assets was finalised.
The shutdown has now moved from decision-making to implementation. Employees were reportedly informed through email to collect their personal belongings as offices began to be vacated. The airline has also started clearing out its physical presence across Pakistan.
Sources said Serene Air’s vehicles and other saleable assets have already been sold through vendors. Its airport offices, meanwhile, have been handed over to the Civil Aviation Authority.
The airline has also reportedly settled its outstanding financial obligations, including government dues, taxes, office rents and other payments owed to relevant institutions.
Serene Air already been non-operational for months. A Civil Aviation Authority action in 2025 suspended the airline’s air operator certificate over a lack of serviceable aircraft, while a government document later described Serene Air as non-operational. The airline halted operations by December 2025, highlighting the prolonged nature of the airline’s operational troubles.
