Seminar Held On Diplomatic Grievances Redressal

The Presidential Secretariat hosted the third Diplomatic Grievances Redressal Seminar which brought together representatives from various foreign missions.

The forum provided an opportunity for direct dialogue on administrative challenges encountered by diplomatic missions in Pakistan, with a focus on strengthening institutional pathways for resolution through constitutionally mandated ombudsman mechanisms. The seminar was attended by representatives from the embassies of the European Union, Australia, Ireland, Russia, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Iraq, and Nepal, along with delegates from the OIC Ombudsman Association and the Forum of Pakistan Ombudsman.

Presided over by Justice (R) IrfanQadir, Chief Legal Consultant to the President of Pakistan, the session offered a rare opportunity for foreign missions to interact directly with the country’s redressal architecture. In his address, Justice Qadir highlighted the constitutional centrality of the President’s Office in overseeing federal ombudsman matters and described the ombudsman framework as one of Pakistan’s most effective institutional tools—crafted in the 1980s to provide a fast, impartial, and non-litigious path to resolving administrative grievances. He noted that this framework has matured into a vital mechanism of governance, enabling thousands to obtain timely justice without the burdens of formal litigation.
