Security forces killed seven India-backed terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Kharan district.
Security sources infomef on Sunday that the operation was carried out in the Lajay area after intelligence indicated the presence of militants there.
Seven terrorists affiliated with Fitna al-Khawarij were killed, while several others sustained injuries. Security forces also recovered weapons, ammunition and other military equipment from the militants’ hideouts.
One motorcycle and two vehicles located at the sites were destroyed during the operation. According to official sources, the militants were involved in planning and carrying out activities including extortion, kidnapping, targeted killings and suicide attacks.
The operation was conducted as part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts under Operation Rad-ul-Fitna-3. The latest action followed an operation in Khuzdar district a day earlier, in which security forces killed 10 terrorists during an exchange of fire.
The Khuzdar operation was conducted in the Shor Parod mountainous range after intelligence reports indicated the presence of militants linked to the Indian-backed Fitna al-Hindustan. Several terrorists were also wounded in the encounter.
Pakistan has faced an increase in militant attacks, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, since 2021, following the Taliban’s return to power in Afghanistan.
