Security arrangements finalized to observe EidMilad-un-Nabi

Law enforcement agencies has made security measures for processions and religious gathering being held on Friday in connection with Eid-i-MiladunNabi celebrations, officials said.

All arrangements have been finalized regarding the processions of 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal. The meeting chaired by Deputy Inspector General South (DIG) Syed AsadRaza was held to finalize the security arrangements.

The meeting was attended by all sectors and sub-sector commanders of the routes and BD in-charges. DIG South was informed that the route of processions will be completely sealed while the entry and exit points will be monitored with CCTV cameras.

Three command and control rooms have been set up in the South Zone to monitor the processions, more than 5,000 police personnel will be deployed for the security. The meeting discussed various issues regarding foolproof security arrangements for EidMilad-un-Nabi celebrations and processions and maintaining law and order situation in the city.

DIG South Syed AsadRaza directed the officers to ensure flawless security of EidMilad-un-Nabi processions.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Sindh government had announced a ban on pillion riding in the province. Cell phone services were also expected to be suspended in Karachi and other parts of the province as part of security arrangements.

A traffic police spokesperson said that traffic arrangements had been finalised for the main 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal procession on M.A. Jinnah Road.
