Secretary Information vows to strengthen Radio Pakistan

Federal Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, Shahera Shahid reiterated the government’s dedication to bolstering the Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (Radio Pakistan), highlighting its wide-reaching impact across the nation with multilingual news delivery.

During her visit to the PBC office, Shahid addressed key issues including Radio Pakistan’s financial concerns, such as liabilities, salaries, and pensions, which are currently under discussion at higher levels for prompt resolution.

She also emphasized the government’s focus on enhancing financial sustainability for institutions with high expenses and collaborating with the Power Division to alleviate the burden of power utility bills on Radio Pakistan. Efforts have been made to ensure timely pension payments, benefiting pensioners.

Federal Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, Shahera Shahid highlighted the government’s initiatives to uplift Radio Pakistan and its workforce, including adopting government scales and improving transmitters for seamless transmission.

Additionally, plans are underway to establish a centralized broadcast setup in Rawat, Islamabad. Organizational measures are also being implemented to provide medical facilities for employees, while leveraging Radio Pakistan’s properties for organizational enhancement and employee welfare. During her visit to the Associated Press of Pakistan Corporation (APPC) Karachi Bureau, Shahid inspected various sections of the bureau office to gain insights into its operations. Upon her arrival at the PBC building, Shahid received a warm welcome from the Station Director of Radio Pakistan and senior officers from Associated Press of Pakistan Corporation (APPC)  and the Audit Bureau of Circulation.
