A full bench of the Lahore High Court will hear the petitions against the formation of the second JIT of the Model Town tragedy on April 29.
The seven-member full bench is headed by Chief Justice Lahore High Court Justice Qasim Khan.
Police Inspector Rizwan Qadir and Constable Khurram Rafique approached the Lahore High Court against the formation of the second JIT in the Model Town tragedy and challenged the formation of the JIT through petitions.
A full bench of the Lahore High Court had stayed the formation of the second JIT after hearing the petitions.
According to the petitioning police personnel, the JIT has already completed its investigation into the Model Town tragedy.
Therefore, there is no legal justification for forming a new JIT. The petitions sought orders for the formation of a second JIT.
