Schools, educational institutions reopen across Punjab after summer vacations

Schools Educational Institutions Reopen Across Punjab After Summer Vacations

LAHORE – Public and private schools and educational institutions across Punjab, including Lahore, reopened on Monday after an extended summer vacations, bringing classroom activities back into full swing.

The summer break lasted from May 22 to August 23, with schools, colleges and other educational institutions resuming regular academic activities from today.

Classrooms were once again filled with students after a nearly three-month hiatus, with many students appearing excited to reunite with their friends and teachers.

The Punjab government had announced an extended summer vacation this year in view of intense heat and heatwave conditions across the province.

The reopening of educational institutions is also expected to increase traffic congestion in Lahore and other major cities, particularly around school routes during morning and afternoon hours.

After remaining relatively quiet during the extended break, roads leading to educational institutions saw increased movement of parents, students and school vans as academic activities resumed.

The traffic police have deployed wardens at key roads and near educational institutions to ensure smooth traffic flow and manage congestion during school hours. Special arrangements have also been made around major schools and busy routes.

The traffic wardens have advised parents and citizens to avoid unnecessary travel during school timings and urged motorists to follow traffic rules to prevent congestion and ensure road safety.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Education Department has directed educational institutions across the province to ensure 100 per cent attendance of teachers and administrative staff following the reopening.

The authorities have also completed cleanliness arrangements at educational institutions before the start of the new academic term. Special measures have been taken to prevent the spread of dengue, including cleaning school premises and ensuring that areas vulnerable to mosquito breeding are properly managed.

The reopening marks the return of routine academic activities across Punjab after one of the province’s longest summer breaks in recent years.

The students are expected to gradually settle back into regular classes and academic schedules in the coming days.

The school administrations have been instructed to maintain a clean, safe and disciplined learning environment.
