American Woman Embraces Islam Marries Pakistani Man In Khewra

KHEWRA – An American woman has travelled to Khewra in Jhelum district to marry a Pakistani man she first met through social media, in a cross-border relationship that reportedly developed over several years.

Rosanna Marina, a US national, married Khewra resident Adil Shahzad after embracing Islam. The couple’s story has attracted attention among local residents and social media users.

According to Adil, the two first came into contact on Facebook around three years ago. Their initial online friendship gradually developed into a close relationship before eventually turning into a romantic partnership.

After maintaining contact for several years, Rosanna travelled to Pakistan to marry Adil. She reportedly told authorities that she had come to Pakistan voluntarily and consented to the marriage of her own free will.

The couple subsequently completed their marriage ceremony in Khewra.

Rosanna also embraced Islam before the marriage, reportedly after developing an interest in Islamic teachings. Her conversion and subsequent marriage to Adil have generated considerable discussion on social media.

The relationship has drawn attention not only because it crossed national and cultural boundaries but also because of the couple’s reported age difference. However, different accounts have cited varying ages for the two, making the exact figures unclear.

The central account of their relationship remains that they met online, maintained a friendship for about three years, developed a romantic relationship and eventually decided to marry.

Rosanna’s journey from the United States to Khewra has turned the couple’s relationship into a subject of public interest in the area.

Their story highlights how social media platforms can bring people from different countries and cultural backgrounds into contact, sometimes leading to long-term relationships and marriage.

The couple is now beginning their married life in Khewra after completing the legal and religious formalities associated with their union.

The unusual cross-border marriage has continued to generate discussion among residents and online users, with many focusing on the couple’s journey from a social media friendship to marriage in Pakistan.
