Kashmiri scholars and historians at a meeting presided over by senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, has rejected, altogether, the content of the controversial Indian film “The Kashmir Files” and termed its story as mere propaganda against Kashmiri Muslims.
The meeting was held at Maktab-e-Zahra Hassanabad in Srinagar and was attended by a large number of intellectuals and historians of the occupied territory.
The participants of the meeting said the film has completely ignored the killing of over one hundred thousand Muslims in dozens of massacres carried out by Indian occupation forces in nook and corner of the Kashmir valley during 1990’s.
The scholars and historians maintained that the film writer made an insane attempt to inflame the sentiments of India’s majority population by blowing the killing of a few dozen Pandits out of proportion.
The participants strongly condemned the insult to the Kashmiri Muslims and Shia preacher Mir Shamsuddin Iraqi and Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Revolution of Iran.
It was pledged at the meeting that efforts would be made at the intellectual level to counter the venomous propaganda being spread by the filmmaker through “The Kashmir Files” against Kashmiri Muslims.—KMS
