Senior Pakistan People’s Party leader Syed Khursheed Shah was granted bail on merit by the Supreme Court on Thursday after two years of imprisonment.
Shah was arrested on September 18, 2019, by the National Accountability Bureau in an assets beyond means case.
A division bench of the apex court led by Justice Umar Ata Bandial granted bail after hearing arguments over two days. The reasons for the bail granting order will be issued later.
However, the bench has noted that his name will be placed on the Exit Control List and will be subject to relief granted by the trial court. Makhdoom Ali Khan appeared on behalf of Khursheed Shah.
