ISLAMABAD – The Supreme Court’s constitutional bench on Monday issued notices to all parties in a case pertaining to the Speaker’s full access to the Governor House.
A SC five-member bench headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan took up the case for hearing.
During the proceedings, Justice Aminuddin Khan remarked to Governor Kamran Tessori’s counsel that the issue could be resolved amicably within the party, saying, “You can sit with the party and decide the matter yourselves.”
Justice Aqeel Abbasi questioned which stage of legal proceedings the case had reached.
Advocate Abid Zuberi, appearing before the court, argued that the Sindh High Court had issued its ruling after a single hearing.
“We appeared on the given date, but the decision was announced without issuing any prior notice,” he told the bench.
The Speaker’s counsel requested the court to grant more time for preparation, stating that the Speaker had contacted him only a day earlier.
The bench accepted the request and adjourned further hearing of the case.
