SBP opens LC for purchase of electric buses

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has opened the Letter of Credit (LC) for the purchase of electric buses to be operated in Islamabad.

The amount has been paid for the purchase of 160 buses, and a team of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) will go to China in November to inspect the buses. After the inspection, the first batch of 30 electric buses will reach Pakistan, the CDA sources said.

The second batch of electric buses will consist of 70 and the third batch of 60 buses, they added. The electric buses will be operated on 13 routes in Islamabad.

From December, the electric buses will be operated on two routes in Islamabad.

In the first phase, electric buses will be operated on the IJP and Tramiri Chowk routes.

Drivers will be trained for two weeks to drive electric buses.
